After a loud mehndi and an emotional rukhsati, the walima should feel calm and well run. As your walima event planner in Islamabad, we plan the stage, dining, catering timings and guest flow for the groom's family. Tell us the venue and guest count, and we send a plan within a day.
The walima is the one function where the food is judged harder than the decor. Guests arrive, greet the couple, and then everyone watches the buffet. If dinner opens late or the queue blocks the stage, that is what people remember. So we plan the walima around three things: the couple's stage, the dining flow and the timing agreed with your caterer.
We keep the look lighter than the barat, with fewer but larger flower arrangements and more space between tables. What we don't do is overload a walima with barat style decor, or plan a dining layout without asking the caterer how many counters they bring.
Walimas in the capital come in four common shapes, and the dining plan changes with each.
Hotel catering, fixed ballroom rules and a polished finish. We handle the stage and decor inside the hotel's timings.
The most common format. Needs buffet counters placed well away from the stage.
Marquee, lights and a kitchen tent on a lawn. Popular in Chak Shahzad and Gulberg Greens in the cooler months.
Smaller guest lists, round tables and served courses. Needs more table decor and fewer counters.
Walimas usually fall a day after the barat, so they share the season but need their own plan.
Farmhouse and lawn walimas work well in these cool evenings, and a covered dining area is enough without side walls.
Cold evenings push most walimas indoors. For farmhouse walimas we add heaters in the dining area, where guests sit longest.
Spring walimas can go outdoors again, with a rain plan ready. Pastel spring flowers are at their best and cost less.
Indoor walimas in air conditioned halls and hotels. We use heat tolerant flowers and keep fresh arrangements cool until setup.
When the barat and walima are on back to back days, we plan both changeovers together so one team works both nights.
Pick the services you need. Each is priced on its own line in your quote.
A clean stage in white, ivory, blush or sage, with a simple sofa, a large floral arrangement on each side and a backdrop that lets the couple's clothes stand out. We keep the stage lower and wider than a barat stage, so guests can walk up and greet the couple without climbing steps.
Your caterer may come with the hall or be one you choose. We agree the menu timing, the number of counters, the dessert station and the serving staff with them, then set the dining area to match. For large walimas we plan separate counters for men and women if your family prefers it.
Table runners, centrepieces and chair covers that match the stage, placed low so guests can see and talk across the table. For buffet walimas we decorate the counters and the dessert table, which get more attention than most people expect.
A welcome board with the couple's names, a light floral entry and a small reception table for gifts and the guest book. We place it so the groom's family can greet guests without blocking the door.
Chandeliers, warm fairy light canopies for marquees and soft uplights on walls. Walima lighting is softer than the barat, with warm white instead of colour washes, which suits the lighter outfits in photos.
We agree the photo list with your photographer and keep the stage clear between family groups. Walima photos are often calmer and more formal, so we plan a few minutes of couple portraits away from the crowd.
A highlight film and full coverage of the walima, with a mic placed for any speeches or duas. If the same team covered the barat, we share both running orders so the two films match in style.
Reserved sofas near the stage for both sets of parents and elders, with name cards if you want them. We also plan a quiet corner where the bride can rest between greetings.
Book any of these with your walima, and one planner coordinates all of them on the same timeline.
Stage, flowers, entrance, table and room decor for weddings, birthdays and corporate events, designed as one look.
Photographers for every function, working to your running order with an agreed family photo list.
Highlight films, full coverage and clean audio for the nikah and speeches, planned with the photographer.
Wedding and event catering, BBQ, hi tea and live stations, with serving times planned into the event.
Marquees, shamianas, side walls, flooring, chairs and heaters for farmhouses, lawns and rooftops.
Speakers, mics, mixers and DJs for mehndis, qawalis and corporate events, with a technician on site.
Balloon arches, garlands, walls and ceiling balloons for birthdays, showers and corporate events.
House lights, fairy light canopies, stage lighting and uplights for shadi homes, marquees and halls.
The walima is often the groom's parents' first time hosting the new couple. Here is how we help them host well.
The groom's family gets to host, not manage.

White, ivory, blush pink, champagne and sage green are the most requested walima colours. They photograph well next to the bride's walima outfit, which is usually lighter than her barat joora.
A common guide is one full counter for every 100 to 150 guests, plus a separate dessert station. Your caterer has the final say, and we set the dining area around their plan.
