Serving farmhouses in Chak Shahzad and Gulberg Greens, lawns in F-7 and E-11, and halls across Rawalpindi
Your cousins have practised the dances for a month, the dhol is booked and the bride wants a jhoola. As your mehndi event planner in Islamabad, we plan the whole night: decor, dhol, DJ, dance order and food timings. Winter dates fill fast, so send yours on WhatsApp now.
The mehndi is the loudest night of a Pakistani shadi. Half the guests want to dance, the elders want a seat with a view, and everyone wants a picture with the bride on the jhoola. A mehndi that only looks good in photos fails at least two of those groups. We start with the floor plan: where the stage sits, how big the dance floor is, where the dhol stands and where the aunties sit.
Only after the layout works do we choose colours and flowers. We do mehndi setups and nothing that fights them: no hard sell on extras, no cramming a 25 foot stage into a lawn that needs dance space. If your venue is small, we tell you and suggest what to cut.
The format decides the layout, so we ask about it on the first call.
Open lawn, big guest list and a late night. Needs a generator, heaters in winter and lights on the parking and paths.
Smaller, closer and cheaper. Common in the F, G and I sectors. Sound has to stay polite for the neighbours.
Both families in one venue, one stage and two dance slots. Needs a running order both sides agree on.
Fixed setup window and closing time. The stage has to be prebuilt and fitted in a few hours.
Most mehndis here are evening events, often outdoors, so the weather decides more than the theme does.
The best months for an open lawn mehndi. Evenings are cool but comfortable, and you can skip side walls on the marquee. Book early, since families pack their mehndis into these weeks.
Cold nights close to freezing. Outdoor mehndis need gas heaters around the seating, a marquee with side walls, warm drinks near the entry and a heated area for the bride between dances.
Mild again, but spring storms can roll off the Margalla Hills within an hour. We keep sidewall panels and a covered area ready for every open setup.
Heat and the July monsoon move mehndis indoors or late into the night. Air conditioned halls, basements and covered rooftops with fans and coolers work best.
Whatever the month, we check the forecast two days out and confirm the backup plan with you by WhatsApp.
Choose the parts you need. Every item is priced separately on your quote.
The stage is framed with genda strings, fabric panels or fresh flowers in your colours, with a takht, low sofa or floor seating for the bride. We size it to the venue, keep the front open for photos and leave a clear side step so the bride can come down for the rasam without climbing over cushions.
A wooden or metal jhoola wrapped in flowers and fabric is the most photographed spot of the night. We anchor it properly, test it with weight before guests arrive, and place it where the light falls on the bride. On a farmhouse lawn it can stand alone as the entry feature.
A marked dance floor in front of the stage, sized for the performances you have planned, with a DJ or sound system and a mic for the anchor. We share the dance list with the DJ in advance so the tracks play in order and nobody waits in silence between items.
No mehndi feels right without a dhol. We book dhol players for the bride's entry, the rasam and the dance floor, and time them against the running order so they play when the energy dips, not over the speeches or the mehndi rasam itself.
Gaddas, takiyas, rugs and chandni sheets close to the stage for the family, with chairs further back for elders who prefer them. In winter we add blankets and heaters around the floor seating, since the ground gets cold fast on Islamabad lawns after dark.
The bride often walks in under a dupatta or phulkari held by her brothers and cousins. We plan the entry path, the lighting on it, the petals and the song, then brief the family on their cue. It takes two minutes and becomes one of the best clips in the wedding film.
Decorated thaals for mehndi, mithai and candles, rasam bowls and small gift trays, ready at the stage before the rasam starts. We match them to the colour theme and keep spares, because a thaal always gets knocked over once the dancing begins.
Fairy light canopies, lanterns along paths, colour washes on the dance floor and warm white light on the stage so faces look right in photos. We size the generator for lights and sound together and run separate lines, so a tripped light does not kill the music.
Book any of these with your mehndi, and one planner coordinates all of them on the same timeline.
Stage, flowers, entrance, table and room decor for weddings, birthdays and corporate events, designed as one look.
Photographers for every function, working to your running order with an agreed family photo list.
Highlight films, full coverage and clean audio for the nikah and speeches, planned with the photographer.
Wedding and event catering, BBQ, hi tea and live stations, with serving times planned into the event.
Marquees, shamianas, side walls, flooring, chairs and heaters for farmhouses, lawns and rooftops.
Speakers, mics, mixers and DJs for mehndis, qawalis and corporate events, with a technician on site.
Balloon arches, garlands, walls and ceiling balloons for birthdays, showers and corporate events.
House lights, fairy light canopies, stage lighting and uplights for shadi homes, marquees and halls.
Joint mehndis are more common in Islamabad every year, and they need more planning than a single side mehndi.
Both families get a planner to call, and nobody has to referee the dance floor.
How we work: Dream Event Planners plans and runs your event. We bring trusted decorators, caterers, sound teams and photographers, or work with the ones you already booked, and one planner manages all of them against a written timeline. Read more about us.
For 150 to 200 guests, plan for a stage around 16 to 20 feet wide and a dance floor of at least 15 by 15 feet, plus seating around it. Send us your venue size and we share a layout with the quote.
Yellow and green are the classic mehndi colours. Many Islamabad brides now pick orange and pink, or a multicolour mix with phulkari fabrics. We send a mood board so you choose before we order flowers.
Yes. We check the load, add a canopy or shamiana, fence the edges with fabric panels and run a safe power line for lights and sound.
A home or rooftop mehndi takes four to six hours. A farmhouse setup with a marquee usually needs most of the day.
We can book mehndi artists for the bride on the day before and for guests at the function, with a seating corner set up for them.
If both are at home, yes. We add the stage, jhoola and lights to the dholki setup, which keeps the cost down.
