The barat is the day most of your album comes from, and the bride's family is hosting it. As your barat event planner in Islamabad, we run the stage, the entry, the rasams, dinner timing and the rukhsati. Hall setup windows are short, so we plan every step in advance.
Guests see the barat stage for three hours. The photos stay on the drawing room wall for thirty years. So we design with the camera in mind: how deep the backdrop is, where the light hits the couple's faces, how much room there is for twenty relatives in one group photo, and whether the flowers read as flowers or as a red blur.
We also plan the part most decorators ignore: the barat's arrival. The groom's side comes in with the dhol, the bride's family waits with rose petals and a garland, and somebody has to hold the entry clear while the photographer walks backwards. We mark that path, light it and brief the family.
Pick a style or mix them. The venue ceiling height and the bride's joora colour narrow it down fast.
Deep reds, gold frames and heavy roses. Still the most requested barat look in the capital.
Arches, jharokha panels and brass lamps, in the style of the Badshahi Mosque and the old havelis.
A full wall of flowers in one or two colours, with a simple sofa and clean lines.
Ivory, blush and champagne for families who want the barat softer. Also suits a combined barat and walima.
The barat is usually indoors, but the season still shapes the entry, the car and the schedule.
Comfortable evenings, so the barat entry can start outside with the dhol and move in. Popular dates go early, and halls give tight setup windows because they run functions back to back.
Peak barat season and cold nights. We keep the outdoor part of the entry short, heat the reception area and plan the rukhsati so the bride is not waiting in the cold.
Mild weather with a real chance of rain. We keep the entry covered and put plastic sleeves over the car decor until the rukhsati.
Hot evenings and the monsoon. Entries move fully indoors, flowers need more water and shade before the event, and we switch to heat tolerant blooms.
Halls in Islamabad also work to fixed closing times, so we set the barat arrival, rasams, photos and dinner against that clock from day one.
Every item below can be booked on its own or as part of a full barat setup.
The couple's sofa, backdrop, floral frame and stage floor, in the colour of the bride's joora or a contrast that makes it stand out. We build the frame in panels before the day so it goes up fast, then dress it on site with fresh flowers, which stay fresh longer when they go on last.
A lit walkway from the gate to the stage, lined with flower stands, lanterns or LED pillars. We time the lights and the dhol so the groom walks into full brightness, and keep a clear lane for the photographer and videographer walking ahead of him.
Warm front light on faces, back light for depth and uplights on pillars or marquee walls. Hall lighting in Islamabad is often flat and yellow, so we bring our own stage lights and set them before the photographer arrives.
Centrepieces, table runners and chair sashes that pick up the stage colours, sized so guests can see across the table and talk. For large halls we focus the decor near the stage and the family tables, where it shows in photos.
Fresh flowers on the bonnet and roof, ribbons on the mirrors and a clear exit path lit for the rukhsati. We fix everything to survive the drive home on the Expressway or Murree Road, and we protect the paint on borrowed cars.
Decorated trays and glasses for doodh pilai, joota chupai and the other rasams, ready beside the stage. We keep the bride's side supplied, since these rasams move fast and nobody wants to run to the kitchen mid ceremony.
For functions with separate seating, a second smaller stage or photo backdrop on the ladies' side, so the bride's friends and relatives get their pictures without crossing the hall.
We agree the family photo list and the timing with your photographer, and keep the stage clear between groups. The couple gets photographed quickly, and the older relatives don't stand around waiting for their turn.
Book any of these with your barat, and one planner coordinates all of them on the same timeline.

The barat is the bride's family's day to host, and the pressure sits on the parents. Here's how we take it off them.
The parents get to be parents at their daughter's wedding, not event managers.
How we work: Dream Event Planners plans and runs your event. We bring trusted decorators, caterers, sound teams and photographers, or work with the ones you already booked, and one planner manages all of them against a written timeline. Read more about us.
A barat stage usually uses deep colours like red, maroon and gold with heavier florals, since the bride's family hosts it. A walima stage is often lighter, with white, blush or pastel florals, because the groom's family hosts it and the mood is calmer.
Most barat stages take three to five hours to fit and dress. Islamabad halls often give access only a few hours before the function, which is why we prebuild the frame in panels.
Yes. Hotels have their own rules on fire safety, fixing items to walls and entry times. We confirm them with the hotel's events team before we start.
If both functions are in the same venue on back to back days, we can change the flowers and fabric on the same frame, which lowers the cost.
Yes. We decorate sedans, SUVs and vintage cars with fresh flowers and ribbons, fixed so nothing comes loose on the drive.
Yes. We can upgrade the hall stage with our flowers and lights instead of building a new one, if the base suits your look.
