The mangni is the first time both families sit together as one, and its photos end up in every album. As your engagement event planner in Islamabad, we plan the stage, ring ceremony, gift trays, cake table and photos. Most setups take half a day, so short notice can work.
Most engagements in Islamabad are smaller than the wedding functions: 50 to 150 guests, often at the girl's home or a small hall. That does not mean they should look small. The ring exchange, the first photos of the couple together and the families meeting properly all happen here, and a good setup makes it feel like the start of the shadi.
We plan the stage or seating for the couple, a proper ring ceremony moment, a cake or mithai table and a photo corner for both families. We don't turn a mangni into a mini barat. It should feel warm and close, and fit the house or hall you have.
Families here do the mangni in a few different ways. Each needs a different setup.
The traditional choice. The boy's family visits the girl's home with the ring and mithai.
A larger guest list in a small hall, banquet room or restaurant hall.
An evening function outdoors with lights, food and music.
Some families combine the mangni and nikah in one function. We plan both parts on one stage.
Mangnis happen all year, often months before the wedding. The season changes where you can hold it.
Pleasant evenings for lawn engagements. Halls are busy with weddings, so book small halls and restaurants early.
Cold evenings push engagements indoors. Home mangnis in heated drawing rooms are the easiest option.
A favourite time for engagements, with a wedding planned for the next winter. Lawn setups need a rain cover.
Quieter months for halls, so better dates and rates. Indoor and evening functions work best in the heat and monsoon.
Many families fix the mangni around Eid holidays, when relatives from other cities are in Islamabad.
Pick what you need. Each item is priced on its own line.
A small stage or a decorated sofa corner with a floral backdrop, fairy lights and the couple's initials. At home we set it against one wall of the drawing room or lawn. In a hall we build a proper stage sized for the room, with space in front for group photos.
A decorated ring platter, a small table for the ceremony and good light on the hands for the close up photo. We brief the photographer on the moment, so the ring exchange is not missed while everyone crowds in.
Decorated trays for the ring, mithai, dresses and gifts exchanged between the families. We can prepare the boy's family's trays so they arrive ready, and set the girl's family's return trays at the side of the stage.
A dressed table for the engagement cake, cupcakes or a mithai display, with a backdrop for photos. We coordinate delivery time with the bakery so the cake arrives after the setup and before guests.
A backdrop with the couple's names or a "She said yes" sign, flowers and lights, placed near the entry so guests take pictures as they arrive. It gives the families a spot for photos without crowding the stage.
A photographer who knows the order: the arrival of the boy's family, the rasam, the ring exchange, the cake and the family groups. We share the plan in advance so nothing is missed.
A short highlight film and full coverage, with a mic for any speeches or duas. A good engagement film is often reused in the wedding highlight later.
Entry decor, lights on the gate and house, table decor and flowers inside. For homes we focus on the rooms guests use, which keeps the cost sensible.
Book any of these with your engagement, and one planner coordinates all of them on the same timeline.
Stage, flowers, entrance, table and room decor for weddings, birthdays and corporate events, designed as one look.
Photographers for every function, working to your running order with an agreed family photo list.
Highlight films, full coverage and clean audio for the nikah and speeches, planned with the photographer.
Wedding and event catering, BBQ, hi tea and live stations, with serving times planned into the event.
Marquees, shamianas, side walls, flooring, chairs and heaters for farmhouses, lawns and rooftops.
Speakers, mics, mixers and DJs for mehndis, qawalis and corporate events, with a technician on site.
Balloon arches, garlands, walls and ceiling balloons for birthdays, showers and corporate events.
House lights, fairy light canopies, stage lighting and uplights for shadi homes, marquees and halls.
The girl's family usually hosts, often at home and often with little time. Here is how we make it easy.
The family can welcome the guests instead of running to the kitchen and back.
